Calvin and Mila

Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein
Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein
Emma Stone in Calvin Klein

Mila Kunis in Alexander McQueen
In Vera Wang
In Elie Saab
This award show season the red carpet was almost more exciting than the actual ceremonies. Okay, who am I kidding, they are almost always more fun. The trend this year seemed to be simplicity and sleekness with a dash of sex appeal - and these words are synonymous with Calvin Klein. If there was one designer that caught my eye this award season it would be without a doubt Klein. My favorite Klein dress would be the fabulous peachy/ pink dress worn by Emma Stone at the Golden Globes. From head to toe it was perfection: The color. Fantastic. The classy up-do. Fantastic - I am even loving her new blonde hue. The metallic Swarovski clutch. Fantastic. New comer Jennifer Lawrence looked nothing short of a bombshell in a sexy red Calvin Klein design. The sleek form fitting gown exuded plenty of sex appeal, but never crossed the line into vulgar. Gwyneth Paltrow, a veteran at looking great on the red carpet, stood out in a cool metallic colored dress. The whole look was styled to perfection - I am especially loving her no nonsense super straight strands.

I never have a favorite look during award season. I always love more than one dress, one designer and one actress. But this year Mila Kunis stuck out like a sore thumb, a very fabulous sore thumb. I absolutely loved all three of the dresses she wore to the major award ceremonies. She looked smoldering in an Alexander McQueen piece at the SAG awards; the red dress was just high fashion enough to be accepted by the picky eyed public and still be astonishing. Her loose curls completed her fiery ensemble. She looked even better at the Golden Globes in a single strapped green Vera Wang gown. The color looked amazing on Kunis' olive skin tone and her bouffant do was a surprising and welcome touch to complete the look. Who can ever go wrong when wearing Wang? Finally, Mila Kunis in Elie Saab at the Academy Awards. My absolute favorite look this award season. The delicate purple color was just gorgeous on Kunis, and I especially love the low, almost drapy neckline and the details on the skirt that showed just a peek of skin through purple lace. Amazing! The dress fit Kunis perfectly and the styling was extraordinary. In one word it was beautiful. A word not used quite as often as it should in today's fierce fashion world.
